Branding

Pushin' Daisies is a branding project for a theoretical music festival. Pushin’ Daisies Fest strictly features artists who have died.

The Skull-Flower logo and theme was inspired by the phrase "pushing up daisies" which refers to a buried body fertilizing the soil and growing flowers. The quote encapsulates the positive, celebratory nature of the festival. It implies that even after death there is beauty and renewal.

The objective was to create a cohesive brand identity that would represent the festival's aesthetic values and attract fans of the genre. Assets such as the logo had to be versatile and displayed in different formats. Information design was heavily considered for the poster and brochure.

These were my initial sketches. I had other ideas for the festival name such as Beyond The Grave and Dead On Arrival Festival.

This is a mood board I made to convey the stylistic direction of the project. I focused on bright colours, gradients and bold, blocky graphics.
